Zenit-2 reached the quarterfinals of the Russian Basketball Cup for the first time
Basketball players from St. Petersburg Zenit-2 reached the quarterfinals of the Russian Cup for the first time in history.
On Wednesday, Zenit-2 defeated Surgut’s Ugra in overtime in the 1/8 finals match with a score of 97:90 (19:23, 21:20, 19:20, 29:19). The St. Petersburg team reached the quarterfinals of the tournament based on the sum of two matches (180:179).
In the next stage of the tournament, the blue-white-blues will meet with the VTB United League team – Paris Nizhny Novgorod. The first match will take place on January 7 in St. Petersburg, the return game will take place on January 28 in Nizhny Novgorod.
CSKA-2 also made it to the quarterfinals of the Russian Cup, beating Dynamo Ufa (43:51, 96:83) on aggregate. The next opponent of the army team will be Novosibirsk, the matches will take place in January.
