100-102: Bakishi Manresa sinks the San Pablo team who clinched the victory in overtime.
San Pablo Burgos once again came close to victory, but succumbed after brutal overtime for the sake of concessions in a match of enormous attrition against serious BAXI Manresa. In this match, the local team went from being behind to being ahead, showing character to overcome important disadvantages, but was ultimately condemned by a mistake in the final possession, leaving them with only one win at Locker (100-102).
Porfi Fisak’s side competed until the last shot, forcing extra time and had real options until the last moment, but more success from the 3-point line of their rivals and some important decisions ultimately turned the situation in favor of the Catalan team.
The game started out very balanced, with both teams trying to score points in the paint, but Jivan Jackson came alive and added to Burgos’ advantage (13-8) with success from the perimeter. Manresa adjusted (17-16), but San Pablo, with Happ, Corvalan and Meindl very strong in front of the basket, led on an 8-0 run that forced Ocampo to stop the game.
The quarter ended with an exchange of baskets and some outside work, especially from Ubal and Steinberg, with the score at 30-25 after the first 10 minutes.
The second act began with San Pablo gaining the upper hand thanks to constant attacks from Dani Diez and Neto, extending their lead to 39-30 with incredible pace control.
But Rivals responded on the perimeter and in transition, with Brooks, Steinberg and Olinde closing the gap, but there was an unexpected break due to screen issues (43-36).
After the restart, Alex Reyes and Obasohan led the visitors Partial 3-14, closing the score and taking advantage of some mistakes by the local defense (51-52) to overturn the result (46-50).

The third quarter clearly went against San Pablo. San Pablo had a very unlucky start and was severely punished by the outside success and verticality of his rivals.
Obasohan and Alex Reyes set the tone early on, increasing the lead until Porfi Fisak was forced to stop the game (56-64) with the score already heavily tilted.
Instead of responding, the locals conceded a tough quarter with Bassas and Steinberg in the lead, reaching an alarming maximum margin of 59-78.
Nevertheless, the team did not collapse and found oxygen in the energy of Zivban, Mindl and especially Corvalan and Happ, leading to a slow but steady recovery in the final stages (73-80).
The final quarter was a test of San Pablo Burgos’ character and resistance, with Corvalan taking the lead and decisively leading a quarter that narrowed the score, but his fourth personal foul conditioned the local rotation (77-80).
The exchange of blows was constant, with Fisher and above all a rousing Jivan Jackson supporting Burgos offensively against the reactions of Obasohan and Alex Reyes (85-87).
In a tense final stretch, Zivvan made a very difficult basket to tie the score and put his team back in the lead, nullifying a Bassas triple and giving the advantage back to their rivals. With the score tied at 90-90, Steinbergs missed a potential game-clinching outside shot and Jackson was unmarked on his final possession, sending the game into overtime.
The maximum equality and tension of the final stages of the match was maintained in extra time, with Manresa scoring the first goal and Djivvan supporting San Pablo with a decisive move.
The tension to add to the win began to be seen on the bench as well, with two consecutive moves sent to the bench, first to Porfi Fisak and then to Diego Ocampo.
Despite continued hits from the lines of Oriola and Alex Reyes, San Pablo remained options until the last moment thanks to Zivvan’s leadership and timely contributions from Mindl and Fischer.
However, a mistake by Leo Meindl on the final play with the score tied at 100-101 resulted in a heavy defeat for Porfi Fisak’s team, which pushed them further and further away from salvation.
