Aldama’s final block seals the win for the Grizzlies.
Santi Aldama was the hero of the Memphis Grizzlies this Tuesday, clinching the victory over the San Antonio Spurs. De’Aaron Fox’s saving block with 5 seconds left made it 106-105.
Fox, a specialist in winning the basket, took over the Spurs’ last-minute offense as they needed just two more points to win the game. He got into the paint and took a shot, but it hit Aldama’s hand just inches away.
Cam Spencer grabbed the rebound and moved the ball away from the Memphis basket as time expired.
Aldama, who came on as a substitute, recorded 10 points and 9 rebounds in addition to 2 assists and 2 blocks.
San Antonio (25-11) led at halftime and entered halftime with a 46-54 lead.but after going through the locker room, the Grizzlies (16-20) responded with a 13-3 run that allowed them to take the lead for the first time since the start of the game.
The Spurs didn’t know how to take advantage of Memphis’ big weakness. That means they lost a lot of games in 20 games and only won 18 points.
Grizzlies had the rebound advantage (72-60) Both teams made mistakes in this game, and their field goal percentage was below 40%.
Jaren Jackson Jr. had a very solid game with 21 points, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 2 assists. Cam Spencer added 21 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, and Jock Landale contributed 19 points and nine rebounds.
