OFFICIALLY. Eurocup favorite signed an American with NBA experience
“Beşiktaş” It was reported on the official pages of the club that a contract was signed with Matt Thomas.
The agreement between the American and the Turkish club is valid until the end of the season.
After playing for Granada, Thomas was transferred to Beşiktaş. The 31-year-old shooting guard was one of Spain’s team leaders, averaging 14.6 points per game and making 46.2% of his three-point attempts.
The American has a solid European resume. He played an important role in the championship fight by winning the EuroCup with Valencia in 2019, and now he will try to repeat this success with Beşiktaş.
Thomas also has experience playing in the Euroleague; He defended Alba’s colors last season, averaging 12.3 points per game and consistently shooting from long range against top-flight opposition.
Before moving to Europe, Thomas played for the Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz and Chicago Bulls in the NBA.
Beşiktaş is currently in second place in Eurocup Group B with 9 wins – 4 losses and is very close to reaching the play-offs.
