Casademont Zaragoza won the honorary title of winter champion of the Endesa Women’s League by narrowly defeating IDK Juskotren (52-46) and outdoing Spur Girona on the courts of Rointek Guernica (72-62). The Catalans, who until yesterday had the highest overall average points in basketball, paid for a poor second half in the Basque Country, losing an 11-point lead at half-time (30-41).

Mariam Coulibaly had an impressive performance with 25 points, 12 rebounds and a rating of 40, but none of her teammates reached 10 points or ratings. For Rointek Guernica, Serbian players Mara Janković (18 goals), Ane Olaeta (13 goals) and Esther Castedo (11 goals) stood out.

Casademon, who are currently in the lead, did not have a good game and had many problems in attack, losing by 11 points in the 23rd minute against IDK Youth Kotlen (24-35). Carlos Cantero’s team managed to turn things around and secure a narrow victory.

Valencia Basket also suffered a lot before winning against Lugo, where Duran Encino caused a lot of problems (75-78). It was a game that required decisiveness until the last second. Despite dominating most of the game and leading by 20 points, Valencia Basketball struggled in the final minutes as Encino closed the gap to just three points (73-76) with 26 seconds left. In that context, the leadership of Anderson and Alexander was decisive in securing a highly valuable competitive victory.

The award was presented to IDK Juskotren and Innova Leganes, who won a decisive duel (78-73) against Bakshi Ferrol in the battle for the last two spots in the Copa de la Reina, which will be held from March 26th to 29th in Tarragona.
