Carmelo Anthony could no longer bear to hear certain Sixers fans berate him and went to the podium and had a heated conversation with them, resulting in their removal from the field.
Almost the entire NBA knows that every game with the Sixers is special because of their offensive fans. But some get away with it sometimes, like two of them in the Sixers’ game against the Lakers (Philadelphia’s 105-87 win), causing tension with Carmelo Anthony.
With the game into his fourth season, the veteran forward could no longer bear to hear the Sixers cursing him. So during a pause he approached her menacingly and exchanged a few “French” with each other. Result; Stadium security removed the two fans and Anthony then engaged in an intense chat with another man on the field, with play finally returning to normal.

Former Miami Heat employee sentenced to three years in prison for stealing 400 game jerseys
A former Miami Heat security officer has received three years in prison for stealing and selling team merchandise, ESPN reports.
Marcos Perez, 62, was convicted in the United States in early January, according to court records. Back in August 2025, he pleaded guilty to selling stolen goods.
Perez spent 25 years with the Miami Police Department before leaving the force and joining the Miami Heat, where he was responsible for security from 2016 to 2025.
According to federal prosecutors and the FBI, over the years, Perez stole more than 400 jerseys and other gaming paraphernalia from a secure warehouse, after which he sold the stolen goods on various online platforms. Among the stolen items were valuable rarities. Perez was one of the few employees who had access to the warehouse where the collection for the Miami Club Museum, which had not yet opened, was being collected.
Perez sold approximately $1.9 million worth of paraphernalia, authorities said. In particular, he admitted to selling LeBron James’ NBA Finals jersey for approximately $100,000. The T-shirt was later sold at Sotheby’s for $3.7 million.
In addition to the three-year prison sentence, Perez was ordered to compensate the club for damages in the amount of the above amount – $1.9 million.

Timothy McCormack, who lives in New York, became the first person to be convicted in the NBA’s high-profile insider betting case. He was sentenced to two years in prison in Brooklyn federal court for using inside information to place bets on league players.
Prosecutors had sought a four-year prison sentence, calling McCormack’s actions intentional fraud. The defense, on the contrary, talked about his long-term gambling addiction. The court also banned McCormack from gambling for a year after his release. He must report to prison by April 20.
McCormack is betting on games involving former Toronto Raptors player Jontay Porter, who is banned from basketball for life, as well as games involving Miami Heat’s Terry Rozier.
The investigation began after the betting companies reported suspicious activity to the International Betting Integrity Association and then to the FBI.
McCormack’s conviction was the first real sentence in a case that has increased scrutiny on betting integrity and highlighted the risks of insider trading in professional sports.
