The race

The 5-0, with which they surprised Monaco from the guests, gave way to another series from Monaco (7-0). With Motiegounas scoring all of the hosts’ points, Monaco went ahead and gradually increased the score. Real had a problem with fouls early on as they were already being charged with four after five minutes of play. The game remained at a fairly low score after 15 minutes of play, with the Monegasque retaining the reins of the game after going 5-0 initially. The picture changed in the last minutes of the first half, when the guests found solutions in attack mainly with Yul and went to the dressing room with the difference in points (34:35).

Real were strong both in the second half and early in the game, taking advantage of Monaco’s absence and taking a five-goal lead after one-offs from Yaboussele. The hosts returned and finished the third period early, with the game forever lit. James gradually found his rhythm, Andjusic increased his performance and Monaco retook the lead without, of course, being able to rest. Bacon had an opportunity to end the game for Monaco but missed a three point and the game was sent to overtime. There, while the game seemed to be leaning slightly towards the home side, Real drew and the Monaco thriller went into overtime.

There, a Taylor treble in the last two minutes of the game blew the Madrilenians from five points they kept until the end and achieved a shocking and very difficult double in Monaco.

Former Miami Heat employee sentenced to three years in prison for stealing 400 game jerseys

A former Miami Heat security officer has received three years in prison for stealing and selling team merchandise, ESPN reports.

Marcos Perez, 62, was convicted in the United States in early January, according to court records. Back in August 2025, he pleaded guilty to selling stolen goods.

Perez spent 25 years with the Miami Police Department before leaving the force and joining the Miami Heat, where he was responsible for security from 2016 to 2025.

According to federal prosecutors and the FBI, over the years, Perez stole more than 400 jerseys and other gaming paraphernalia from a secure warehouse, after which he sold the stolen goods on various online platforms. Among the stolen items were valuable rarities. Perez was one of the few employees who had access to the warehouse where the collection for the Miami Club Museum, which had not yet opened, was being collected.

Perez sold approximately $1.9 million worth of paraphernalia, authorities said. In particular, he admitted to selling LeBron James’ NBA Finals jersey for approximately $100,000. The T-shirt was later sold at Sotheby’s for $3.7 million.

In addition to the three-year prison sentence, Perez was ordered to compensate the club for damages in the amount of the above amount – $1.9 million.
