Serbian basketball player reports attack by Croatians but is accused of violence

Chaos with Serbia centre-back Sava Lesic who claimed he was attacked by Croats at his home but according to the Croats he and his brother were the first to attack.

A strange case has been occupying the Serbian and Croatian press for several hours, with Borac center Sava Lesic as the protagonist. A case with two different versions: that of the player and that of those involved.

Here’s how it goes: A few days ago, Lesic was riding with his wife in a car that was almost involved in a car accident in Šibenik with another woman (of Croatian origin) who had her 13-year-old daughter in the car. which resulted in the two sides exchanging a few words. But it didn’t stop there. And here begins the mix,

According to the Croatian side, Lesic’s wife attacked and beat the 13-year-old. The girl’s father – a 53-year-old police officer – and his 27-year-old son then went to Lesic’s house (where he had visited his parents). There, the 34-year-old center and his 37-year-old brother Dragan attacked the two men, with the latter allegedly hitting the 27-year-old on the head with a hammer (!) and then breaking his nose with his fist, in an incident who appeared to hear nationalist chants from the Serbian side.

However, the Serb Lesic’s side presents the facts differently. Accordingly, the 13-year-old attacked his wife after the near-accident. Then the driver of the other car followed them and photographed the license plates when they arrived at his parents’ house. After a few hours, her husband appeared with his son, who was yelling “You killed my mother in 1995 and now I’m going to kill you” and then attack with chains. As a result, the Lesic brothers had to fight back as their children were crying on the balcony in the meantime.

As it turns out, the case still has a long way to go. However, after it became known, the first-degree charges seem to weigh on the side of Lešić and his brother.

Niko-Basket coach: “We had to look for foreign players”

Coach of Niko-Basket Valentin Berestnev He said the following about the transfer of American defender Jamir Moultrie:

“We had no experience. We do not have basketball players with Ukrainian passports to strengthen their strength. We had to look for a foreign player, in this case an American. This is a very difficult situation because half of the season has already passed. Everyone who is interested has already subscribed.

We took the risk and signed. We watched it during warm-up today. The first impression is quite positive. He is an extremely positive man, he serves the ball to the players and wants to join the team immediately, he does not distance himself from the team. We hope it will strengthen us. “With his experience, he will be the right player to help us win tough matches.”

Niko-Basket currently ranks eighth in the Super League with 5 wins in 17 matches.
