Minus 26. Ukraine lost to Turkey in the friendly match
Ukraine men’s national team lost to Turkey (70:96) in the opening match of the friendly tournament that started in Istanbul.
The teams didn’t play a full roster, Alexey Len was out of the roster, Shane Larkin didn’t play in Turkey, and Ukraine’s home team appointed Toronto defender Svyatoslav Mikhailyuk for the three representatives of the NBA.
Turkey took the initiative from the first quarter and naturally won three of the four quarters. Ukraine could not find three-pointers – 2/11 in the first half and 4/16 in the match, the opponent turned 11 of 22 long range.
Also, there was not enough aggression in the offense somewhere, as in 20 minutes the Ukrainians only completed 1 free kick and 7 throughout the whole game, while Turkey only scored 13 points from the penalty line in the first half.
Artem Pustovoy was the most productive with 16 points for the blue-yellow team, while Svyatoslav Mikhailyuk scored 12 and Bohdan Bliznyuk scored 10. Today, August 12, Ukraine will play against Poland in Istanbul. The game starts at 17:00.
