Jokites Lithuanian Neanid European Champion, 78-75 Spain in Crete
European basketball prodigy Juste Jokite exploded at EuroBasket U18, guiding Lithuania Juniors to the top of Europe with a 78-75 win over Spain.
Lithuania ended its trip to Greece and the EuroBasket Women U16 in a dreamy fashion, beating Spain 78-75 in the final, held at Dyo Aorakia in Heraklion, Crete.
Yuste Yokite, the child prodigy who played for the country’s women’s national team at the age of 13, scored 28 points (6/9 2-points, 16/19 shooting), tacked nine rebounds and gave seven assists in 33:21, while Vilte Andrunavicute (16 points) and Ugne Sirtautaite (17 points) became their supports.
Amazing performance from Elena Buenavida Estevez, who had 36 points from 9/14 2-pointers, 4/6 3-pointers, 6/8 shots, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 33:27. However, apart from Carla Brito (12 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists), she had no one to help her in the crucial final minutes of the game.
