For the first time, the Greek national team was not “fooled”.
The national basketball players are staying at their homes to ensure that preparation for EuroBasket 2022 goes as smoothly as possible for everyone. The internationals eat at the stadium as EEC has partnered with a catering company.
National teams are usually “locked up” in hotels to prepare for major events. The national basketball team, for example, traditionally held the main phase of their preparation in Karpenisi, combining work and residency in Montana, but this year things are very different.
Dimitris Itoudis and the people of the Hellenic Basketball Federation decided that the basketball players should go to OAKA for their daily routine and then return home and not to the Ilision Hotel, where they had spent several weeks in previous years.
The people in the national team want the national players not to see each other for almost two months but to go back to their families and loved ones so that everything goes as smoothly as possible for everyone. Exceptions are players like Nick Calathes or Tyler Dorsey, who have no other choice and stay in a hotel since they don’t have a home in Attica.
In addition, EEC has partnered with a catering company and OAKA offers food every day, from fish to oily fish, legumes to meat and salads, for every taste and appetite. Players eat on the field and are given rations for their dinners, so everything is controlled depending on each athlete’s eating habits and needs.

Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant rose to sixth place in the history of the National Basketball Association (NBA) in points scored in the regular season, the league’s official website reports.
The 37-year-old basketball player scored 18 points in a victorious game against the New Orleans Pelicans (119:110). Durant now has 31,562 points. He beat out former Dallas Mavericks power forward Dirk Nowitzki, who played for the Texas club from 1999 to 2019. The German has 31,560 career points.
In fifth place on the list of top scorers is Michael Jordan, who scored 32,292 points in the NBA regular season.
In October, the Houston basketball player became the highest paid player in NBA history in terms of salary for his entire career, including future payments – 598.2 million. By this indicator, he was ahead of LeBron James (583.9).
Durant is a two-time NBA champion with the Golden State Warriors, the NBA’s Most Valuable Player in the 2013-14 season, and twice won the Finals Playoff MVP award. The American also played for the Seattle SuperSonics, Oklahoma City Thunder and Brooklyn Nets.
