Liberty Surprise Sky and Ace are second to Mercury
The New York Liberty gave surprises this Wednesday at the start of the WNBA’s ‘playoffs’by winning on the field of the reigning champions, Chicago Sky, on a day when the Las Vegas Aces did not fail against the Phoenix Mercury.
The WNBA Postseason kicked off at Chicago’s Wintrust Arena. The second seed Sky lost to the New York Liberty 91-98.one seventh.
Sabrina Ionescu (22 points) and Natasha Howard (22) together scored 44 points And after leading the Liberty by 6 points in the 4th quarter, they sealed a 13-0 run to lead the best of 3 in this series.
They didn’t betray the reigning regular season Aces, who defeated last year’s finalists Mercury 79-63.
22 Kelsey Plums and 17 Chelsea Grays were perfect for Aces.
The “playoffs” will be contested by the best of the three games of the first round. And they will be the best of the semi-final five.
