Sun and Storm start ‘playoffs’ on right foot

The Connecticut Sun and Seattle Storm kicked off the WNBA playoffs with victories this Thursday.They defeated the Dallas Wings and Washington Mystics respectively.

The Sun gave the Wings no options, winning 93–68 with five players with 10 or more points, led by Jonkel Jones’ 19 and Alyssa Thomas’ double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds.

In another game this Thursday, Sue Bird’s Storm beat the Mystics 86-83. Pushed by a double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds from Breana Stewart.

The ‘Playoffs’ kicked off this Wednesday with victories for the New York Liberty over reigning champions Chicago Sky and the Las Vegas Aces over the Phoenix Mercury.

The “playoffs” are played with the best of the first three games, followed by the best of the five semi-final games.

Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic He shared his feelings about returning to Dallas, where he spent 7 years as a member of the Mavericks.

Cheers erupted in the arena during the Slovenian’s introduction, and fans chanted “MVP” when Doncic went for a free throw.

“I was very happy to come back here. I went home and looked at my cars. But, you know, it’s always emotional. I was very pleased that the fans applauded me when I was introduced.”

It will always be a special place for me. I’ve spent seven years here and a lot of things have happened, both good and bad. When I went to Madrid at the age of 13, I felt good every time I returned to Slovenia. That’s why it will always be a special place for me.

Fan support? It was really special. I didn’t know what to expect because I know how the city responds to such cold weather, but I’m really grateful to a lot of people for coming.

Doncic helped the Lakers win 116-110 with 33 points, 11 assists and 8 rebounds in the match.

At the end of the match against the Boston Celtics at the United Center (114:111), the former NBA star’s number 1 jersey was officially removed. Derrick Rose.

Rose becomes the fifth franchise player to have his jersey retired, joining Michael Jordan (23), Scottie Pippen (33), Jerry Sloan (4) and Bob Love (10).

Many members of Rose’s family and former teammates attended the ceremony, including Joakim Noah, Luol Deng, Tej Gibson and Kirk Hinrich. Rose’s favorite Bulls coach, Tom Thibodeau, also attended the meeting, giving a special speech.

“He showed everyone what it means to be a great Chicago Bulls and a great person. To me, the next stop is the Hall of Fame, no doubt about it. Thank you Derrick, I love you,” Thibodeau said.

Rose was selected first overall by the Bulls in the 2008 NBA draft. For seven seasons, he led the team to success, including the 2011 Eastern Conference Finals.

At the age of 22, he became the youngest MVP in NBA history for the 2010-11 season. Rose was also a three-time All-Star, All-NBA selection and a gold medalist for Team USA at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups.

American point guard “Rovno” Carlos Hines He signed a contract with Major League club BC Khmelnitsky.

The 26-year-old basketball player made his debut for Khmelnitsky in the match against Freedom UA, playing 80:61.

Hines remained on the court for 25 minutes and recorded 11 points and 4 rebounds during this time.

Carlos was the only foreign player not in Rivne’s squad in the GGBET Super League match against Zaporozhye on January 17.

Hines played 16 games in the GGBET Super League for the Rivne team and recorded 9.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists.
