Georgia – Poland 76-87: Great Poles, they closed the Acropolis best
More motivated, Poland also defeated Georgia 87-76 to close the Acropolis Tournament with a 2-1 record.
The fifth game of the Acropolis tournament was also the last for Georgia and Poland. The two teams put up a nice fight on the OAKA floor on Friday afternoon (19/8), with Poland claiming victory (87-76) and leaving Athens with a 2-1 record, having also beaten Turkey.
Effective on two-pointers, balanced on wide shots, with excellent ball circulation, partnership and tenacity throughout the 40 minutes, Igor Milicic’s team showed a much better face than anyone expected after the series with the Ponitka brothers.
Georgia, on the other hand, never found a way to make up for Thad McFadden’s very poor performances and no matter how hard the amazing Toko Sengelia tried, they didn’t pose a threat in the second half. Sandro Mamukelasvili had good moments but Ilias Zouros is certainly concerned as he awaits the return of Goga Bitatze which will not solve any of the given problems of this team.

Lakers player independently fixes dislocated finger during Dallas game
Los Angeles Lakers player Marcus Smart He described how he removed his finger during an intervention attempt and then reattached it:
“My finger popped out again, so I had to put it back in. I put it right back in. It was the same finger that had been operated on before, so it was a little scary, but it would still be fine.”
I sprained my operated finger and thought, “I don’t want to quit playing.” I quickly tried to set it up and if it hadn’t worked I would have left the site long ago. But I managed to get back into the game.
It’s part of basketball, it’s part of me. I’m a tough player, things happen and I want to help the team in any way possible, whether it’s with ten fingers or nine fingers,” Smart said.
While Los Angeles Lakers defeated Dallas Mavericks with a score of 116:110, Smart played 32 minutes and played with 13 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks during this time.
Previously, Luka Doncic shared his feelings about returning to Dallas.

Doncic on returning to Dallas: ‘This will always be a special place for me’
Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic He shared his feelings about returning to Dallas, where he spent 7 years as a member of the Mavericks.
Cheers erupted in the arena during the Slovenian’s introduction, and fans chanted “MVP” when Doncic went for a free throw.
“I was very happy to come back here. I went home and looked at my cars. But, you know, it’s always emotional. I was very pleased that the fans applauded me when I was introduced.”
It will always be a special place for me. I’ve spent seven years here and a lot of things have happened, both good and bad. When I went to Madrid at the age of 13, I felt good every time I returned to Slovenia. That’s why it will always be a special place for me.
Fan support? It was really special. I didn’t know what to expect because I know how the city responds to such cold weather, but I’m really grateful to a lot of people for coming.
Doncic helped the Lakers win 116-110 with 33 points, 11 assists and 8 rebounds in the match.
