Ennis: “Obrandovic knows how to get the best out of his player, I’ve learned a lot in a short amount of time”
Tyler Ennis would have liked to spend a lot more time alongside Zeljko Obradovic but that wasn’t possible at Fenerbahce. Because he was hurt.
Apparently luck wasn’t kind to him Tyler Ennis. Although he could be part of an elite EuroLeague team, back-to-back injuries have slowed him down. It belongs now Tofa. Dimitris Priftis and together they celebrated entering the groups of the Basketball Champions League through qualification.
Speaking to Mozzart about the Turkish team’s success at this early point in the new season, Ennis went way back. He went into the season (2018-19) across the Atlantic, moving to Europe to play for Zeljko Obradovic’s Fenerbahce. He had even signed a contract for two years.
However, the serious ankle injury not only took away three appearances in the EuroLeague, but above all the opportunity to work alongside a great sports teacher. At least he’s managed to discern a lot about who.
As he characteristically pointed out, “After my injury, I wasn’t with Obradovic for a long time. I learned a lot with him in a short time and I regret that we didn’t work together more. He knows how to get the best out of the player. That is certainly the key to his success. It left a bitter taste in my mouth because Fenerbahce reached the EuroLeague Final Four this season and didn’t win the cup. Maybe I could have been a piece of the puzzle needed for the title“.
In another response, Ennis claimed that Harden and Antetokounmpo were the two biggest stars he’s worked with, but pointed out that Isaiah Thomas was the one who influenced him the most.
