Efes won a difficult victory over Galatasaray from Pistiolis

Anadolu Efes needed it against Andreas Pistiolis’ ailing Galatasaray in the Turkish league opener but eventually clinched a 77-68 victory thanks to an 11-0 run in the final.

Andreas Pistioli’s Galatasaray made things difficult for Anatolou Efes in the second-placed team’s home game in the Turkish league’s premiere. For 38 minutes he did almost everything perfectly. In the end, however, it didn’t last as the EuroLeague champions went on to win 77-68 in the end thanks to an 11-0 run starting with the right hand of their league commitments.

The result was 66-68 with less than two minutes in play. However, a three-pointer from Elijah Bryant and a basket and foul from Vasilije Micic in the next phase gave Ergin Ataman’s team a 72-68 lead with less than a minute remaining in the final. Since then, Galatasaray have continued to try and turn the tables but failed and Efes ended the game with an impressive 11-0 run to victory.

Rodrik Beaubois with 21 points and Micic with 16 points were the leading scorers for the winners, with Bryant adding 12 points. At Galatasaray, Sadik Kampacha had 17 points, Yunus Hermes Sonsirma had 14 points and Brasiand Angola had 13 points.
