Peristeri – Tenerife 88-81: triumph against the champions

The picture of Peristeri in SEF on Sunday afternoon (10/16) was not bad. However, the defeat against Olympiakos was difficult and as it turned out, it “spoke” to the psychology of the players of Vassilis Spanoulis, who two nights later entered Andreas Papandreou’s parquet and prevailed with an impressive performance (88-81) against Tenerife team, considered the favorite to win this year’s Basketball Champions League.

Peristeri took a 2-0 lead in the group stage of the competition thanks to his incredible first twenty minutes (19/11 sculls, 10/14 trebles), his persistence and consistency, his stubbornness and focus throughout the forty minutes. The race

Peristeri’s start was excellent, Radanov had seven points in the fourth minute to make it 17-9 and Spanoulis saw five assists for seven baskets. By the end of the third (26-17), the hosts had 5/8 two-pointers, 4/5 three-pointers and 4/6 shots, versus Tenerife 0/1 three-pointers and just three rebounds trying to match that Ball to the racquet and build up your attack from there.

Denmon broke that poor streak with a shot to make it 74-62 early in game four, Tenerife had a lot of whining about refereeing decisions when Huertas was given a technical penalty in the 34th minute, Radanov scored 83-72′ in the 35th minute and Davis 86-75 at 37′, sealing the win for Peristeri.
