Lykogiannis on Darko-Kelly’s horrible injury: ‘He’ll miss the rest of the season, we’re very upset’

Aris Lykogiannis was in a bad mental state after PAOK’s away match against Malaga on the third day of the Basketball Champions League. Not so much for the last four minutes of the game, which saw his players run out of strength and energy, but for the horrific injury suffered by Zacchus Darko-Kelly, who will miss the rest of the season with a broken bone and torn cruciate ligament in his left ankle.
“We’re disappointed because I think we were very competitive. In the last four minutes, Malaga’s defense was very aggressive and on the verge of a foul. We didn’t react well, we didn’t have the energy and strength to finish the game like that. We deserve to be at this level. We are very sad because we lost an athlete who gives us a lot of energy.
