Prometheus officially announced that it will compete in the Basketball Champions League in the 2023-24 season and move to FIBA competition after four years in EuroCup.
Prometheus will compete in the Basketball Champions League in the 2023-24 season. The news was announced by the Patras team in a statement, meaning his application to enter the FIBA competition has been accepted.
Prometheus is leaving the EuroCup after 4 years of presence in the second edition of the EuroLeague Basketball.
The announcement of Prometheus in detail:
“KAE Prometheus Patras informs its fans and all basketball fans that in the 2023-24 season our team will participate in the Basketball Champions League (BCL) organized by FIBA.
The Basketball Champions League is not an unfamiliar competition for us, having participated in the 2018/19 season, Prometheus’ European debut. In the following four seasons we represented our country in the EuroCup in the best possible way.
Despite the overloaded and very demanding schedule, we have managed, by mutual agreement, to achieve a remarkable image at the competitive and organizational level, as well as a perfect relationship and cooperation with the organizing authority, the Euroleague. For this reason we were entrusted with the organization of the Adidas Next Generation Tournament two years in a row.
The four years of our cooperation with the Euroleague were very important for our organization as we gained rich experiences and built strong bonds and friendships.
However, the particular conditions created on the European map made us change our basketball philosophy, always with the aim of creating a competitive team that brings success and awards to its fans.
Soon we will be proud of Prometheus Patras new achievements and how we are going to achieve them!”
