The announcement of Prometheus Patras in detail:

“Prometheus FC announces the acquisition of veteran American forward Deshawn Stephens, who will bolster our team’s efforts for the 2023-24 season.

Deshawn Stephens was born on October 9, 1989 in Los Angeles, USA. He is 2.03 tall and competes in the front positions and primarily the “4” position. This is a player with great experiences and achievements from different leagues around the world. He began his career with the NCAA and the San Diego Aztecs (2011–13), while coming to Europe for the first time in the 2015–16 season to play for the Turkey Banvit. France’s Champagne Basket followed (2015–16), while the following year he continued with Japan’s Akita Northern Happinets before returning home to play in the G League on behalf of the Los Angeles D-Fenders.

He returned to the European courts in the 2017/18 season, playing in Italy’s Hertz Cagliari Dinamo Academy. He then had two very good stints in the Israeli league, at Maccabi Rishon and Hapoel Tel Aviv (2018-19), before returning to Italy, first for Fortitudo Bologna and later for Givova Scafati. In the 2020/21 season he played in Denmark with the Bakken Bears and then joined Igokea from Bosnia/Herzegovina, who also play in the Adriatic League. In the first half of the 2022-23 season, Stephens played for the Bosnians, averaging 12.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists. Last year he finished competing in Italy, this time with Sassari.

We welcome Deshawn Stephens to our basketball family and wish him all the best for a successful, injury-free season as he helps Prometheus achieve their goals.”
