Kottas: “The historical moment of 100 years creates additional pressure”
Thomas Kottas said he was delighted with the agreement with AEK, standing on the 100th anniversary of the team’s founding and promising to give 100% to the ‘Union’.
Thomas Kottas was AEK’s 12th transfer this year and in his first statements as a ‘Union’ player he didn’t hide his delight at joining the team, adding that the 100th anniversary created additional pressure.
Thomas Kottas explained this in detail:
“I’m excited to join the biggest team I’ve ever played for. And that even at a time when the club is celebrating its 100th anniversary. Of course, this historical moment creates additional pressure for me, but pressure is always there when we talk about a team with big ambitions and high goals.
This development came as a bit of a surprise to me. I was looking for a team abroad. However, I was lucky enough to accept AEK’s offer and to be honest I didn’t think much of it. I said yes. I will work hard to fulfill my mission and together with my teammates we will try to do the best.
I thank the management of KAE and everyone who gives me the opportunity to be part of this team. I expect the people at AEK to support us. His presence will be vital to our course.”
