FIBA Champions League
Peristeri gave the BCL the breather it needed with a confident victory over Zompatelli
Peristeri bwin needed a good performance and a win, which prevailed against Zompatelli (87-70) and ensured the first positive result in the Basketball Champions League.
The heavy defeat in France against Le Mans is now history for Peristeri bwin, who defeated Zompatelli at Andreas Papandreou 87:70 on Tuesday evening (October 24th) and improved to 1:1 after the 2nd game of the Basketball Champions League.
After Jaylen Hunts caught fire in the second half, Vassilis Spanoulis’ team did the job and continues with a better mentality but also with an eye on the market. Ragland and Kaselakis followed on the night when many world basketball players met near Peristeri, including Vangelis Liolios, Nikola Miloutinov and Dimitris Agravanis.
Zompatelli proved to be a low level opponent who fought as hard as she could, she simply lacked the talent to win. Perl, Tibi and Keller were the three who stood out, with the Hungarian team looking competitive at the start of the second half, clawing back the deficit but ultimately losing the third period and the game.
24-17 points from opponents’ mistakes, 12-9 points from surprises, 19-7 points from second chances, 32-22 points from the stick, 49-32 points from substitutes, 22-23 fouls and 18-11 shots taken from the both teams.
