EEC: “We simply accepted AEK’s agreement with Holon for hosting in Ano Liosia.”
The association announced its own position in the AEK announcement, referring to a decision by FIBA with the approval of the EEC to host Hapoel in Ano Liosia.
KAE AEK issued a statement claiming this “Due to the circumstances and the chaotic situation, we could only accept FIBA’s decision to host Hapoel Holon (without financial compensation) in our stadium with the consent of the EEC.”. Something that provoked the immediate reaction of the Federation, which took a stand and indeed caused great unease.
“The Israeli federation informed the EEC that the teams agreed and formally inquired about its own position. We then asked AEK and they officially confirmed to us that they are in constant communication with Hapoel Holon and agree that the Israeli team plays in Ano Liosia. EEC, Therefore, after everyone’s official assurances and especially based on the fact that AEK agreed, we gave the formal OK.”
This was the answer – position of the Federation to the question related to the announcement of the AEK, and in fact it is claimed in the EEC that there is written evidence from the exchange of these documents that confirms the veracity of the statement.
