Tofas is pushing Dimitris Priftis for the head coach position
Tofas has Dimitris Priftis as No. 1 shortlist for the managerial position, hoping that the project she pitched to him will persuade him to move to Turkey.
On Tuesday, June 7th, Tofas announced her divorce from Ahmet Tsaki while bowing to find his successor. The truth, of course, is that the Turkey side made their decision to change batons on the bench long ago and approached Dimitris Priftis early on.
The 53-year-old coach has been No. 1 in Tofa’s shortlist from the start, with the organization expecting the former Panathinaikos OPAP coach to move to Turkey soon. In fact, in the last few days, contacts between both sides have multiplied, which shows how much they want Tofas to hear the ‘yes’ from Dimitris Priftis.
At the moment there is no agreement, but on the part of the Turkish team there is an ambition that the project submitted to the 53-year-old coach will be able to take him to the Basketball Super Lig and the Basketball Champions League in the coming season.
