FIBA Champions League
Featuring Spanoulis, the annual gathering of basketball champions league coaches
Vassilis Spanoulis, Aris Lykogiannis, Yiannis Sioutis and Andreas Pistiolis attended the annual Basketball Champions League Coaches and Referees Meeting.
For one more year, the Basketball Champions League organized the annual meeting of coaches and referees before the start of the new season. As has been the case regularly in recent years, the event in Frankfurt brought the coaches of the teams directly in the groups and the referees together to discuss competition, refereeing and organizational issues.
The Greek color was very intense at this meeting. At the coaching level, Vassilis Spanoulis (Peristeri), Aris Lykogiannis (PAOK), Yiannis Sioutis (AEK) and Andreas Pistiolis (Galatasarai) gave their “gift”. At referee level, alongside Giorgos Poursanidis, Tasos Kardaris was also present at the workshop, who will officiate in the Basketball Champions League for the first time in his career.
Basketball Champions League CEO Patrick Komninos said: “The Basketball Champions League is an event by and for teams. Therefore, our main goal is to offer them services at the highest level. I am very happy to welcome the BCL coaches and referees in Frankfurt. This workshop is very important to maintain consistency across all BCL games. We also have the opportunity to speak and hear the coaches’ opinions, which will certainly help us to further develop the organization“.
We remind you that the regular season of Basketball Champions League will start on October 3rd, while the qualifying rounds will be held in Skopje, Malaga, Lisbon and Belgrade.
