Barcelona will be without Nikola Mirotic for the opening games of the season, with the Catalans saying their leader remains on a rehabilitation program for his torn Achilles tendon and will miss the opening games, including the EuroLeague opener against Olympiakos.

Nikola Mirotic will not be able to reinforce Barcelona in the first games of the 2022/23 season, including this EuroLeague opener against Olympiakos (7/10). On September 30th, Barcelona meets Gran Canaria in the ACB premiere.

The news was announced by the Catalan club in a statement, which said the Montenegrin striker, with a Spanish passport, is continuing his recovery from the Achilles tendon in his left leg.

It is recalled that Mirotic injured his leg last July, with no further details released immediately. Barcelona hastened to deny that their star suffered a torn Achilles tendon but admitted it was an injury.
