Endesa League
Laprovitola scored 25 of Barcelona’s 67 points to guide them to victory
With Laprovitola scoring 25 of his team’s 67 points, Barcelona edged Tenerife 67-65 to give last year’s BCL champions their first Liga Endesa defeat.
Without particularly impressive and despite the low shot rates (16/35 2s, 8/24 3s, 11/18 shots), Barcelona prevailed in the 5th game of the Endesa league with 67-65 against Tenerife and signed his team Chus Vidoreta in his first home defeat a few 24 hours after his unsuccessful attempt against Peristeri for the Basketball Champions League. Somehow, the Blaugrana improved their record to 4-1.
Sarunas Jasikevicius decided to skip Abrines and Tombey for recovery reasons and opened the rotation by giving Oriol Pauli enough time (8pts, 5 rebounds, 3 assists 23’52”) and James Nanji (4 points and 8 rebounds in 13’52”).
A leading role was played by Nicolas Laprovitola, who finished the match with 25 points (4/7 twos, 4/9 threes, 5/5 shots), 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, but also 6 errors. Disappointing performance by Tomas Satoranski, who missed out on participation (0/2 threes) in 19’48”.
Standing out on the losing side were Sasu Salin with 22 points (6/10 threes) and Elgin Cook with 16 points and 4 rebounds.
