Giorgos Tsalbouris scored 24 points for Baskonia, but the Basques beat Real Betis 107-104 in extra time
A few days before the away game at Panathinaikos (11.11.), Baskonia put 107 points on Real Betis after Maccabi Tel Aviv had previously been loaded with 116.
However, Juan Penaroja’s team needed the extra five minutes of extra time to defeat the Andalusians resistance 107-103, who relied on the amazing Giorgos Tsalbouris, who was on 24 points (4/7 doubles, 5/8 trebles, 1 /2 shots) in 26 minutes participating in his best performance in the Spanish league.
Marcus Howard (29 points, 2/5 2-pointers, 5/10 3-pointers, 10/11 shooting in 24:08), Mike Kochar (17 points, 8/11 2-pointers, 1/3 shooting in 23: 06) and Rokas Giedraitis (13 points, 4 rebounds) led the Basques, who took 9 points and 12 assists from Pieria Henry.
