Adai Mara Gomet in the footsteps of Rubio and Doncic
17-year-old giant Adai Mara Gomet made his presence felt on Matchday 22 of Liga Endesa, reminiscent of Ricky Rubio and Luka Doncic.
Adai Mara Gomet has been the talk of the town in Spain for the past few days. The promising Spanish basketball giant put in his best performance – see you next time – in Zaragoza’s Liga Endesa Round 22 game against Obradeiro, and reminded a few other prodigies of that.
To be precise, at the age of 17 years and 11 months, Mara was scoring 15 points (3/5 2-pointers, 1/1 3-pointers 6/7 shots), racking up 5 rebounds, making 2 steals and dishing out 3 blocks. He somehow accumulated 22 rating system points and became only the fourth U18 player with 20+ PIR in a league game (since 1983, when that record started). The three others who have done so are Ricky Rubio, Luka Doncic and Usman Garuba.
