Adai Mara Gomet leaves Spain
18-year-old Adai Mara Gomet, the brilliant star of Spanish basketball, is preparing to leave Zaragoza and move to the United States, according to a Spanish publication.
Spanish basketball’s biggest rising star, Adai Mara Gomet, who just came of age a few days ago (04/07/2005), is preparing to leave Zaragoza and the Endesa League for a move across the Atlantic to join the NCAA. At least that’s what the Relevo report says.
According to the said Spanish publication, Mara and his entourage have decided to pay for the buy-out in his contract as he can now earn up to 600,000 euros as an athlete in a college from the sponsorship deals that are expected to be finalised.
Additionally, because the Spanish center is at a university and forecasts UCLA as a favorite, it will be closer to NBA teams looking to “check him out” as it looks like he will be among the top draft picks in 2024 .
This season, Mara is averaging 5.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1 block per 12 minutes of participation in 20 games he has played in the Spanish league.
