Real Madrid: Sergio Yul and Rudy Fernandez sign new one-year contracts
Real Madrid want to keep Sergio Yul and Rudy Fernandez for at least one more season but are offering significantly reduced salaries and a smaller role in next season’s rotation.
Maintaining the backbone is a constant priority for Real Madrid, who aim to immediately resolve pending issues with Sergio Yul and Rudy Fernandez, whose contracts expire in the summer.
Pablo Lasso has suggested keeping the two experienced peripherals as their ‘varnish’ is still ‘fading’ and because they are a barometer for maintaining balance within the WiZink Center. Although both are in the west of their careers (34 and 37 years old respectively), the decision for new one-year contracts has been made in “Vassilisa”.
According to MARCA, the parties involved are close to an agreement to expand their cooperation, with an important footnote: they will receive much less than this year and their role will be limited over the years.
