Badalona: “We are outraged by the insults against Yabusele”
Some Badalona fans called Gerson Yabusele a ‘killer’ in the third game against Real Madrid. The ACB has launched an investigation into the incident. The Catalans condemned the incident.
“Murderer” was dubbed “Murderer” by a segment of Badalona fans in Game 3 of the Endesa Liga Semifinals vs Real Gerson Yabusele (sr. for his WWE tackle on Dante Exum in EuroLeague Playoffs Game 2 vs Partizan).
The ACB issued a statement stressing that they unequivocally condemned the incident, which was noted by the referees on the match sheet, and stressed that an investigation was being launched. Badalona followed a little later, stating through her own announcement that such behavior was incompatible with her values and would be permitted again.
“We express our utter disgust at the screams and insults heard from part of our stands towards a player from the opposing team. We would also like to emphasize that immediately after the incident in question, preventive measures were taken and appropriate instructions were given.” to ensure that the phenomenon stops and does not happen again.
Such behavior is not in line with our values, which are based on respect for those who take part in sporting events, both for the organizers and referees and for opponents and fans of the teams.
Finally, we strongly condemn this behavior in our facilities and in all the stadiums where our teams play.” said the host team, among others.
