MVP Mirotic calls out for the injured Higgins as they lift Barcelona’s trophy together in Madrid
Barcelona captain but the elusive Nikola Mirotic called out Corey Higgins and they lifted the Liga Endesa Cup together after the Blaugrana clinched a comfortable 3-0 win over Real Madrid in Madrid.
Fate plays strange games. And at the end of the 2022/23 season, it fell to… the fugitive Nikola Mirotic to win the Endesa League Championship Cup for Barcelona, at the stadium in Madrid, where he had played from 2008 to 2014 in Leap for the NBA.
The Montenegrin striker, who was also Blaugrana captain that year, called up the injured Corey Higgins, who was out for most of the season, to help lift the prestigious trophy together.
Mirotic was even named MVP of the championship finals, receiving the appropriate award from Pau Gasol.
