The Pander fiasco changes the facts for Higgins at Barcelona

It cannot be ruled out that the loss of Kevin Pander will drastically change the situation for Corey Higgins, who now has the chance to stay at Barcelona for another year.

When the Kevin Pander case fell through, Barcelona had made the decision to “opt out” (ss: there was one year left) of Corey Higgins’ contract. This would even result in a part of next season’s budget being reserved for the compensation of the experienced regional player.

But now, with the new data, Corey Higgins’ whereabouts seems the most likely scenario, as reported by Mundo Deportivo. The publication on the Spanish website analyzes the specific case and explains that Barcelona’s plan has changed significantly. Especially since there seem to be no players of the same range and level on the market.

However, unlike Corey Higgins, Sergi Martinez is expected to be on loan. Girona seems to be his most likely destination.
