Official: Nikola Mirotic has left Barcelona
Barcelona have announced the termination of Nikola Mirotic’s contract, a story that has troubled the Spanish club a lot in the past.
Nikola Mirotic’s streak with Barcelona ended – with all due respect – on Thursday afternoon 20 July. The Spanish club announced that the cooperation with the 32-year-old forward has ended, meaning that both sides have reached a compromise on the compensation the veteran sportsman will receive.
“Today, Barcelona have officially informed Nikola Mirotic’s legal representatives of the decision to terminate the sportsman’s professional contract with the club, which has tied him until June 30, 2025. This measure was taken to comply with Barcelona’s financial survival plan” is significantly mentioned in the relevant notice.
The topic of the divorce of both sides has been a topic of conversation in the EuroLeague for at least three weeks. Barcelona have announced that they intend to change their financial policy as Nikola Mirotic’s exorbitant contract doesn’t match the new order at the Spanish club.
