Lasso for Hertel and Tombkins: “They don’t train with us, it’s my decision and it’s final”
Pablo Lasso referred to the situation with Tomas Hertel and Trey Tombkins, who confirmed that the two players are not training with the team and his decision is final.
Real Madrid’s negative results have brought drastic changes to the club. After losing to Bayern in Madrid, Pablo Lasso announced that Tombkins and Hertel were dropped from the team.
He confirmed this in his statements ahead of the Clasico against Barcelona for Liga Endesa, stressing that this is a final decision.
“The Hertel and Tombkins case is my decision alone. It is my duty as a coach to find out what the problem is. Both players are no longer training with us. My decision is final.
I believe that the remaining 13 players can do their best until the end of the season and we will be the team we want to be. I have some problems with the team but we will solve them. We will not sign new players immediately. As a team, we have a strong base and are secured. I expect my team to do their best against Barcelona. We respect them fully.”
