Abrines: “I like the transition from Jasikevicius to Grimau”
After a three-year collaboration with the committed Sarounas Jasikevicius, Alex Abrines enjoys the first tastes of Roger Grimau’s work on the Barcelona bench.
After completing his duties with the Spanish national team at MundoBasket 2023 and now being integrated into Barcelona’s preparations for the 2023/24 season, Alex Abrines has already drawn first conclusions about the new Blaugrana coach Roger Grimau, which are particularly positive.
Speaking to Catalunya Radio, the 30-year-old guard/forward said: “I notice that the chemistry in the team is right, which helps us all. Sarah and Roger have completely different profiles.”
THE The change from last year to this year is kind of strange. The transition from Saras, who is more expressive and screams more, to Roger is a transition that I obviously like. You don’t expect it and it’s hard to react after three years with Jasikevicius and one year with Svetislav Pesic.
The game’s concepts have changed a lot compared to Sara’s era. It will take some getting used to, but I hope we can be competitive in the meantime.
The club was betting on someone from the team and Roger deserved to take the position of first coach as he had also served the team as a player.
