From Burgos to Valencia and from there to Basconia, Ioan Peniaroya is close to an agreement with the Vitoria club for a two-year collaboration.

Baskonia will end a difficult season in terms of results in a few weeks, half of which has changed coaches (Neven Spahia instead of Dusko Ivanovic). Jose Kerecheta has made the decision to make a new leadership change in the technical leadership to hand the keys to Ioan Peniaroya, as reported by BasketNews.

The 53-year-old manager signed a one-year deal with Valencia last year, which has shown a willingness to extend it during the season. This did not happen as Basconia was willing to take the opportunity to bring him to Vitoria.

Ioan Penaroya is one of the most developing coaches in Spain, with a steady rise in recent years. He started his career at Olesa before making the big move for Andorra (2010-’18). A season in Manresa (2018-’19) and two years in Burgos (2019-’21) followed, with which he twice won the Basketball Champions League title.
