Kyle Kuric needs a three-pointer in a month and 4 days, he’s 0/18 in 8 games
Kyle Kuric is going through a period of deformation, as a result of which he has not scored a three-pointer in an official game for 34 days and has recorded 0/18 three-pointers in 8 games.
It was April 27 when Kyle Kuric came off the screen and scored a three-pointer in his team’s 66-75 win in Barcelona’s game against Bayern Munich, scoring 61-75. He didn’t know it at the moment, but this was the last three-pointer that would be targeted for the next…month.
The American guard then missed a three-pointer he attempted and ended the match with 1/6 three-pointers. A month and 4 days have passed since then. And Kuric hasn’t managed to score a three-pointer since!
It sounds unbelievable but one of the best shooters on the European turf scored 0/18 three-pointers in the following 8 games in Game 3 with Bayern Munich: 0/4 in Game 4 in Munich on April 29 and another 0/14 three-pointers -Points in May in the 7 games of Barcelona. Of course, as you can see, Kuric generally went through that time…an ugly moon. Overall, the American has averaged just 2.1 points and 1.5 rebounds in Barcelona’s last 8 games with 50% in doubles, 0% in trebles and 60% in shots in 14 minutes of participation. The last time he shot far behind the three-point line was on April 24, when he had 10 points with 3/4 threes in the 69-65 win over Tenerife.
That doesn’t mean Barcelona opponents will suddenly treat Kuric like a bad shot though. Although this year, with 35.2% in three-pointers in the Spanish championship and EuroLeague (in a total of 70 games), he shoots into a number that doesn’t quite represent him.
The fact that one of the best shooters in Europe has been without a three-pointer for the past 34 days is certainly news. It remains to be seen if the…eruption will come at some point. History has shown that the numbers eventually even out.
