Bad luck for Martin Hermanson and Valencia after the Iceland guard suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in his left knee and is expected to be out for at least six months.

Valencia were eliminated by Basconia in the first round of the playoffs, but that wasn’t even the worst thing that happened to the team. The worst was the absence of Martin Hermanson, who retired in the third game (59-76 victory for the Basques) with a diagnosis of a cruciate ligament rupture in his left knee.

The Icelandic guard’s recovery time is now expected to be at least 6 months, but an even longer period shouldn’t be ruled out.

That season, Hermanson averaged 10.6 points, 1.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists in the Spanish league and 8.7 points, 1 rebound and 5.3 assists in the EuroCup.
