Real Madrid: Chu’s Mateo left open the possibility of Lasso returning to the bench before the end of the season
The possibility of Pablo Lasso returning to the Real Madrid bench before the end of this season was left open by his Real Madrid assistant Chous Mateo.
The news that Pablo Lasso has suffered a heart attack has shocked European basketball. The Real Madrid Spain coach overcame the health problem that was plaguing him after spending some 24 hours in the hospital’s intensive care unit. Now Lasso, escaped from danger and safe, has returned home.
Preliminary estimates said Lasso will not return to the bench this season, but this is (indirectly) denied by his assistant at The Queen, Chos Mateo. Mateo has taken on the role of coaching the team while Lasso is out and looking ahead to the first final against Barcelona he said:
“I can’t say for sure if I’ll be coaching the team throughout the series. Pablo is doing well and whether he’s on the bench or not, he’s going to stay with us.”
We remind you that Lasso is close to his players since his training visit a few days ago was followed by another one on Sunday afternoon (6/12).
