Real Madrid: Shortly before expanding the cooperation with game changer Fabian Koser
Real Madrid and Fabian Koser are on the verge of expanding their partnership, according to Marca, something the French guard has won with his saber, meaning his end-of-season performances.
Real Madrid celebrated the Spanish championship by beating (much more expensive) Barcelona 3-1 in the finals series. Fabian Koser was one of the invisible (or not) heroes and helped Pablo Lasso’s team the most, both in the last round of the Spanish Championship and in the EuroLeague Final Four.
The Madrilenians had no plans to renew the French guard’s contract (which expired this year) but his performances convinced the team to keep him. According to a Marca article, Pablo Lasso suggested the veteran guard stay with the team and both sides are very close to expanding their cooperation, proving that hard work pays off.
Koser broke down in tears after winning the championship, showing the year was anything but easy. At the age of 35, comparison to the team’s other veterans (Yul and Fernandez) was inevitable, but the French shooting guard spoke at a critical juncture of the season and laid the foundations for winning the league, irking even the Blaugrana fans.
This season in the EuroLeague Final Four, Kozer averaged 10.5 points in 23 minutes of participation, with 50% on two points, 1.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals. In each of the championship finals, Kozer had an average of 12.2 points in four games, with his top performance in the fourth final being 17 points.
With the Real Madrid shirt, Kozer has won eight titles, including three Spanish leagues, one EuroLeague in 2018 and four Spanish cups.
