Barcelona: Saronas Yassikevitsius said “no” to early extension with a reduced result
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona approached Saronas Yassikevitsios with the aim of extending the partnership early on but with reduced financial benefits. The answer of the 46-year-old coach is negative.
After losing the EuroLeague and Liga Endesa titles, Barcelona are trying to pull their pieces together (sic) and start planning for the upcoming season together. The departures are in the foreground, but at the same time the organization is trying to adjust the financial data in order to “collect” the annual budget a bit.
So, one of Blaugrana’s moves was to propose to Saronas Yassikevitsios the early extension of their collaboration, but with smaller financial advantages. Essentially, they were trying to bait him for the length of his salary, which he didn’t agree with. According to Mundo Deportivo, ‘Saras’ gave a negative answer but that doesn’t mean the Barcelona administration won’t come back with a new counter-proposal.
Like last summer, Joan Laporta will try to reduce the budget this year, especially to tighten it up since Barcelona’s opening is very big.
