Hezonia: ‘Panathinaikos approached me but I had already agreed with Real’
Mario Hezonia revealed in an interview that he was approached by Panathinaikos and Partizan in the summer, but that he had already made arrangements with Real at the time.
Panathinaikos approached Mario Hezonia in the summer. However, it turned out that the Greens were too late. The Croatian striker explained this in an interview with “basketnews.com” and openly referred to the interest of the “clovers” in reunification.
To a related question, Hezonia replied: “Panathinaikos and Partizan approached me, but it was too late, I had spoken to Real. We are in constant communication with Panathinaikos. We talk a lot, whether I’m on the team or not. They came at me, but I couldn’t do anything.”
Closing the issue, the Croatian clarified that his relationship with the team wasn’t broken despite his occasional comments about his departure last year (2021) in the summer:Fans of all teams say bad things about me but not Panathianikos fans. We have a special bond and I spent time with them when I was in Athens. I would like to come back sometime. Panathinaikos is my favorite team, I don’t have to hide my feelings. But I’m at Real Madrid now and I want to win with them.”
