According to Italian media, Virtus Bologna has his eye on Ponitka
Mateusz Ponitka’s stellar performances at EuroBasket 2022 appear to have sparked interest, with Virtus Bologna keen on signing him, according to Italian reports.
Mateus Ponitka is one of the protagonists of EuroBasket 2022, which has led Poland to 4th place in the competition, with the highlight being a triple-double in the quarterfinals against Slovenia. All of this seems to have been activated… Virtus Bologna.
This is supported by the Italian media “il Resto del Carlino”, which reports that the historical club is investigating the Ponitka case. The 29-year-old guard/forward is certainly not available as he has signed a contract with Reggio Emilia. However, after it became known, this has a term of two months with an option for a third month, with a possible buy-out being planned.
Ponitka has averaged 15 points, 6.4 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.6 steals in 28 minutes of EuroBasket play so far.
