Panathinaikos is about to take over from Mateus Ponitkas
Panathinaikos is about to take on Mateus Ponitkas, with the greens just a breath away from the pole.
After his superb performances for the Polish national team at EuroBasket 2022, Mateus Ponitka has attracted interest from Panathinaikos, with the Greens interested in his case. In fact, the Klee is about to be taken over.
The 29-year-old winger (he mainly plays in the ‘2’ and ‘3’, although he has held the role of commander of the ‘1’ in Poland) has a contract with Reggio Emilia but that is unlikely to be his problem if the Greens decide to make their last move for the athlete.
At EuroBasket 2022, Mateusz Ponitka averaged 13.4 points with 5.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists, becoming the strongest card in Igor Milicic’s hands en route to a return to the tournament’s top 4 after five decades. Incidentally, his name has also been associated in Italy with Virtus Bologna, who are still looking for one last addition to the region.
In addition, Ponitka has also been targeted by Efes, who are trying to drive a “wedge” in Panathinaikos.
