Itoudis scored a win on the Fenerbahce bench with Kalathis playing
Dimitris Itoudis’ first unofficial appearance in a Fenerbahce game was combined with a 98-87 win over hosts Karsijaka in the Pinar Cup.
Fenerbahce’s first game of the Itudis era had a positive omen. The new Greek coaching team, mentored all along by Stefanos Dedas’ partner, showed their attacking talent on the pitch and defeated Karsigiaka 98-87 in the inaugural Pinar Cup.
The game was under the control of the yellow-blues from the start and in a few moments during the four hosts Ufuk Saritsa managed to find ways to narrow the difference. In the end there were only five points left, but a three by Scotty Wilbekin restored order.
Itoudis didn’t have Dzekiri, Bjelica, Gegik and Biberovic available, on the contrary Nick Calathes, which was integrated a few days ago, played normally. In fact, he received a slap in the face four minutes before the final and did not compete again.
Fenerbahçe meet Ukrainian side Prometei in the second game of the Izmir tournament on Friday.
THE DECADES: 18-25, 38-42, 65-72, 87-98
Fenerbahce’s points: Edwards 20, Wilbekin 19, Motley 16, Booker 10, Birchen 8, Calathes 7, Pierre 7, Hazer 5, Goodrich 4, Hayes-Davies 2
