Speaking to the Sportish camera, Nate Walters agreed to deal with the pressure this season brings for Panathinaikos. What did he say about Dejan Radonic?

His many years of experience from the EuroLeague will help him in this Nate Walters to deal with situations optimally. So the pressure he faced at Panathinaikos is not a problem for him.

The Greens’ main point guard spoke to the Sportish camera – during the team’s media day – about meeting Dejan Radonic again, but also about how the young players’ thirst can help Panathinaikos significantly.

In detail what he said to the Sportish camera:

– You are new to the team but you know the coach. I think that’s a good advantage for you when you come to Panathinaikos and work with your new teammates.

Yes / Yes. It definitely helps to know the coach. I really like it, I like playing for him. I think he will do a great job here, implementing his system and everything. I think we have a good team. I’m looking forward to the new season“.

– You have worked and played in clubs that have a lot of pressure, like Maccabi Tel Aviv and Red Star, but you know that this shirt means a lot to the Panathinaikos friends. Especially after what has happened in the last two years. Do you feel that pressure in the season? Because the Super Cup is coming up in the coming days.

There is always pressure! Wherever you are. I’ve been on teams with high expectations, but that’s something you want to be. You want expectations, pressures or whatever you call it. I don’t pay too much attention to what’s happening outside, I try more to get better every day and to do my job. It’s going to be a fun season“.

– You feel like you are a teacher for the young players of this team because there are a lot of young people, especially Greeks. Do you talk to them in the dressing room and on the field about implementing new things and how to play?

I think we have one of the youngest teams in the EuroLeague. Me and Derrick (Williams) are the oldest on this team. We have a lot of young people who want to get better and improve. It’s always fun, it makes the drills a bit more intense because the guys play really hard. I think that will help them a lot to improve during the season“.

– Did you ask Giannis Antetokounmpo about Athens or what Panathinaikos means to the fans here?

I haven’t spoken to him, but I know the city and often come as a guest. I’ve liked everything so far. Great city, great food. The organization is good. So, I have no complaints. I’m really looking forward to the new season“.
