Cologne remain strong favorites to host the EuroLeague Final Four in May, but a crisis has left Belgrade awaiting further developments

Discussions are ongoing about changing the date and venue of the EuroLeague Final Four, but every day the dates change in Germany and it is very likely that things will remain as they are. Belgrade is waiting in the corner to win the tournament, but Cologne has yet to say the last word and remains the favorite to host the basketball celebration.

How accurate are things? According to website basketnews.com, due to the pandemic, there is a suggestion that the Final Four will leave Cologne and move to Belgrade. In fact, Stark Arena will not be available from May 27th to 29th, so even if the seating transfer is final, the games will have to take place from May 20th to 22nd.

All this has fallen on the table because in Serbia there are no restrictive measures, while in Germany the situation is completely different and people are not allowed on the field. The new data in favor of Cologne has to do with the change that the Germans are preparing in their legislation, and from next week the fullness will reach 50%. They believe that the situation regarding the coronavirus will be even better by May and there will be no restrictions at all. Therefore, there will be no reason to change anything. Anyhow, discussions are ongoing and there will be final developments soon.
