Baskonia for Vildosa: “He is not free, we have his rights”
With his announcement, Baskonia commented on the transfer of Luka Vildosa to Red Star and emphasized that the Basques have the player’s rights and that there was no agreement between the two teams.
On Thursday afternoon (10/13), Red Star announced the acquisition of Luka Vildosa, who was cut by the Bucks and returned to Europe. The Serbs’ move to announce the Argentine provoked a reaction from Baskonia, who retain the player’s rights outside the NBA.
Vildosa played for Baskonia from 2016 to 2021 when he moved to the NBA. As the Basques explained in their announcement “The player’s transfer was made without the consent of Baskonia, which was neither informed nor received any amount of money. This is a violation of the agreement made between the team and the player when he went to the NBA.”
In addition, Baskonia reported the specific incident to the EuroLeague with the request “compliance with the law and in this particular case, the annulment of the player transfer to Red Star”.
